How to Choose a Scuba Mask: Fit, Lenses and Price
A mask needs to fit your face and give you a clear view. Here’s what to check at the dive shop, including prescription lenses and replacement parts.

Ino Mask
TUSA positions the M1011 Ino for smaller faces. Its single-window design uses the brand’s 3D SYNQ fitting system and Swift Buckle 3D adjustment. This is the standard Ino, not the Ino Pro or fabric-strap variant.

Frameless 2 Mask
A single-window frameless mask with a skirt combining two silicone hardnesses and a softer sealing flange. Atomic lists Standard, Medium and Large fits, all with UltraClear glass. The size choice is a practical distinction to investigate in a fitting session rather than a guarantee that one size works for every diver.

Zoom Mask
SCUBAPRO’s Zoom is a framed, two-window mask with a replaceable-lens system. It comes with a silicone strap and supports an optional Comfort Strap; the manufacturer lists both optical and add-on near-vision options.
Manufacturer specifications ↗What’s wrong with your current mask?
Perhaps your current mask presses on your nose, feels too broad, or leaves you struggling to read small information. Those are three different shopping problems. Tell the shop what bothers you about your current mask so they can suggest alternatives.
If your existing mask fits comfortably and provides the vision you need, a replacement may be a preference rather than a necessity. There is nothing wrong with enjoying new equipment. The useful distinction is knowing whether you are paying for a practical improvement, a spare, or simply a design you like.
Which masks should you try?
The Ino belongs on a smaller-face shortlist because that is how TUSA positions it. Frameless 2 provides another construction and seal design to try. Zoom is relevant when a documented optical-lens route matters. Which one is worth trying depends on your face and vision needs.
Give yourself a reason to try each model. Three nearly identical masks selected only by colour give you less information than models that differ in the feature you are trying to assess. Keep the list small enough that you can remember what you noticed about each fitting.
Try them on at the shop
Bring the hood you expect to use and explain your current discomfort to the dealer. Take time to notice where the mask touches your face, whether the nose pocket has room and how easily the adjustment works. Record the exact model and size. A successful fitting of one version does not establish that a similarly named version will suit you.
If corrective lenses are part of the purchase, establish their availability and the finished price before customisation. Ask an appropriate optical professional about the correction itself. Confirm that the lenses you need are available for that mask before buying it.
Is the more expensive version worth it?
After fitting, ask what the more expensive version adds. Is it a different lens treatment, a supplied strap, another fit size, or a different construction? Put that answer beside the actual price difference. You can then decide whether the change addresses your original problem.
Do the same with the lower-priced choice. If it fits and has the features you need, a longer premium feature list is not automatically a reason to keep shopping. Equally, a cheaper mask is poor value when you already know the contact or vision is wrong for you.
Check care, spares and returns
Confirm what case is supplied, what cleaning products are approved and how you would obtain a replacement strap or buckle. Read the return conditions before taking the mask into water. Keep the model information with the receipt so that a future accessory order does not depend on remembering its colour.
Our product pages link to manufacturer specifications and any reviews we have checked. A positive review can help you identify a candidate, but your purchase still depends on fit, vision and the exact package offered.
