Good gear advice should make things clearer.
We help you understand the options, ask useful questions and choose equipment that suits your diving.
Built with Australian divers in mind
Buying your first kit, comparing two dive computers or packing for a trip? Start with our buying guides, product comparisons and Australian regional guides. We explain the practical differences and link to the information behind them.
“Australia’s #1 Scuba Diving Equipment Guide” is our brand tagline and ambition. It is not a claim of an independently measured market position, award or traffic ranking.
Where the information comes from
Manufacturer pages and manuals support product specifications. Published independent reviews add another perspective. Our assessments are written with AI assistance and are based on those sources; we have not tested the equipment ourselves. Source links and research dates let you check the details.
Two kinds of score
Our editorial scores appear in brand battles. These are subjective buying judgements out of 100: what we like, the compromises we would accept and which model we would choose for the stated job. We have not tested the gear ourselves.
Published review scores on individual product pages come from eligible independent reviewers, converted to the same 100-point scale. They are kept separate from our opinions. See how published ratings are calculated.
What is still being researched
The catalogue includes pages at different stages of research. A listing is not the same as a completed review. Unresolved specifications, missing photos and unavailable independent ratings remain labelled. Technical instruction guides stay out of public release until the required qualified review is recorded.
How technical guides reach publication
- Choose a clear question and research the primary sources.
- Write an original explanation and link the supporting evidence.
- Have an appropriately qualified reviewer check the technical content.
- Check the wording, accessibility and links.
- Record approval before publication and update the guide when evidence changes.
We do not list reviewers or credentials until they have been verified and the contributor has agreed. Buying comparisons do not stand in for instructor approval, practical training or manufacturer service instructions.
Commercial relationships
There are currently no affiliate links, sponsored placements or paid rankings. If that changes, the relationship must be disclosed beside the relevant content. Paying for a placement cannot buy an editorial conclusion.
Help us keep the details useful
Product packages and specifications change. Check the linked manufacturer page and confirm the exact model with your seller before ordering. When raising a correction with the site owner, include the page, the detail in question and a supporting source so it can be checked.
