How we calculate scores →About this gear
Bigblue AL1200WP-IR is an infrared light with a published 940 nm wavelength and an 85-degree beam. The kit includes an 18650 battery, charger, lanyard and spare seals, with four brightness settings and a push-button control.
Consider before buying
Infrared illumination requires a suitable camera or detector; it is not a substitute for a visible dive torch. The page incorrectly places 940 nm in a lumens field and also lists a cool-white colour temperature. Those optical specifications need correction before performance can be compared.
Our take
Consider this specialist light only after confirming that your imaging equipment can record its infrared output. The listed 168 g weight includes the battery, and the published depth test is 100 m. There is no verified independent overall rating, and neither the name AL1200 nor the wavelength establishes a visible lumen output.
