PRODUCT OVERVIEW

About this gear

LED SOLARIS NEXTGEN uses five Cree XP-L LEDs to produce a claimed maximum 4,500 lumens in a 6-degree beam. The 50 W head has a magnetic three-level switch and needs a separate battery, cable and charger.

Consider before buying

Its 340 g dry weight and 61 mm diameter matter when choosing a Goodman handle. Runtime depends on the battery and power setting; the checked battery and head listings do not provide a consistent comparison. The reserve mode should not be treated as a guaranteed duration for an exit.

Our take

Choose Solaris when a fixed narrow beam and the documented head format suit your lighting system. Compare Speleo MKII for a smaller, lower-power head. The 2015 Divers24 Solaris review concerns an older four-LED version, while DirDirect provides a retailer comparison of Nextgen. Neither establishes an eligible independent overall score for this exact model.
