How we calculate scores →About this gear
These are Fourth Element’s original GLK5 Kevlar gloves. Reinforcement covers the palm and fingertips, while a Thermoflex lining and inner wrist print complement the 5 mm neoprene. The construction targets wear around frequently handled equipment such as bolt snaps.
Consider before buying
The newer GL2K05 Hydrolock glove is a different design. Its thinner palm and revised wrist seal should not be assigned to GLK5. Kevlar reinforcement is also not evidence of puncture-proof protection or permission to handle sharp objects.
Our take
Consider GLK5 if reinforcement is more important than a very thin feel at the fingertips, checking remaining sizes with the seller. Try your clips and controls while wearing them. The 4mm mitt offers a different finger arrangement, while Henderson’s 1.5mm glove is a lighter option with less material between hand and control.
