PRODUCT OVERVIEW

About this gear

EPIRB3 combines satellite distress alerting with AIS local locating, 121.5 MHz homing and visible/infrared strobes. NFC provides status access and Return Link Service indicates that the distress message has been received.

Consider before buying

This version uses a manual-release bracket. EPIRB3 Pro has the automatic float-free housing, so the two packages should not be confused when specifying an installation.

Our take

Choose EPIRB3 when the additional AIS channel and status features suit the vessel’s emergency plan. Yachting World identifies the broader feature set but flags cost and compact controls. RLS confirms receipt, not the timing or outcome of a rescue.
