How we calculate scores →About this gear
The Sea Dragon 2300F supplies a wide continuous beam for underwater photos and video. The SL682 version includes a compact tray and grip; the SL682S package uses a longer single tray. It is not the older 2300 Auto light.
Consider before buying
The manufacturer specifies 80 minutes at full output and three brightness levels. Those figures describe the light, not how far it will illuminate a reef. Check the package suffix and current depth specification with the supplier because older listings and the newer shared manual differ.
Our take
Choose it for a compact camera or action-camera setup when one modest continuous light meets the brief. The 5000+ offers a higher listed output and a warmer colour option, but adds a different set of controls and mounting requirements. Neither light replaces a strobe for every still-photo situation.
