How we calculate scores →About this gear
The Mini 1600 increases SeaLife’s compact torch output to 1600 lumens and narrows the underwater beam to 4.5°. It retains three brightness settings, flash and SOS modes, plus an optional instant-on configuration. The concentrated beam favours a small area of interest over broad camera coverage.
Consider before buying
Confirm whether your chosen package includes the battery and charger. ScubaLab’s first look covers both the 1200 and 1600 and comments favourably on their handling, but supplies no overall numeric grades. Its impressions do not prove that the 1600 is a better fit for every diver.
Our take
Choose the 1600 if you specifically want the narrower beam and higher listed output. The Mini 1200 offers a slightly wider spot in the same general format. For filming, compare a 2500F instead; increasing a spot light’s lumen count does not turn it into an even flood light.

SeaLife Sea Dragon Mini 1200 & 1600: ScubaLab First Look ↗
This first look discusses the two compact torches’ grip, single-button operation and package choices. It supplies no numeric overall rating and should not be treated as a long-term durability test.
