How we calculate scores →About this gear
Sea Dragon Universal Flash Head SL9631 is an optically triggered strobe for compatible cameras with a built-in flash. It includes a diffuser and optical connection accessories, with automatic or manual output adjustment, but no tray, grip, case or AA batteries.
Consider before buying
It does not work with SportDiver smartphone housings, ReefMaster RM-4K or SeaLife Micro cameras. The flash needs a suitable optical trigger; the word Universal is not a promise of compatibility with every camera. SeaLife lists up to five seconds recycling at full power.
Our take
Choose it for still photography with a confirmed compatible camera and housing. Its published guide number is 20 m at ISO 100 on land, not an underwater reach guarantee. Compare a continuous Sea Dragon light when shooting video or using a camera without a compatible flash trigger. Reviews of camera packages do not establish a standalone overall strobe score.
