Consider before buying
This is vessel traffic equipment, not a personal distress beacon. Installation, antennas, vessel programming and display compatibility all affect the finished system. ACR also lists a SIL4016 firmware support notice on the product page.
Our take
Prefer the CB2 over the older CB1 when building a compatible higher-power SOTDMA installation. Ask the installer to check the firmware notice and your display connections before ordering; the box alone is only part of the cost.
