How we calculate scores →About this gear
Pathfinder PRO is a radar search-and-rescue transponder for survival craft. It responds to compatible X-band radar interrogation with a recognisable series of returns, helping a searching vessel locate the transmitter.
Consider before buying
Its manufacturer-rated endurance is more than 96 hours on standby and 12 hours active. The official page disagrees about whether the mounting pole is included; get the supplied equipment list confirmed before ordering.
Our take
Choose this when your vessel requires a radar SART. Pathfinder AIS uses a different detection system, so it is not an automatic substitute. Budget for the correct mounting arrangement and scheduled battery service.
