How we calculate scores →About this gear
The ResQFix PLB-300 is a legacy GPS personal beacon, identified by ACR product number 2897. It combines a 16-channel GPS receiver with 406 MHz distress transmission and 121.5 MHz homing.
Consider before buying
At 252 g with its lanyard, it is considerably heavier than the current ResQLink 400. Age, battery history and availability of authorised service are the main questions when considering a used unit.
Our take
We would choose a current ResQLink for a new kit. Keeping an existing ResQFix is a service decision: obtain an assessment and battery quotation before treating a low second-hand price as good value.
