How we calculate scores →About this gear
The View RLS brings together an LCD and Return Link Service. You can read location and transmission information on the beacon, then receive an indication that the satellite system has received the alert and detected your location.
Consider before buying
Receipt confirmation does not mean a rescue team has launched. This model has satellite distress and homing signals but no AIS broadcast; it also lacks routine two-way messaging. Do not confuse it with the earlier PLB-425 View.
Our take
Our preference over the original View when buying new, provided the price difference works for you. Choose the 410 RLS to keep the same receipt-confirmation function without the screen, or the ResQLink AIS for local AIS alerts.
