How we calculate scores →About this gear
A handheld GMDSS emergency VHF radio with glove-friendly controls and a backlit keypad and display. The SR303 is offered as a primary-lithium-battery package or a fuller kit with a rechargeable battery and charger.
Consider before buying
Package contents matter: the rechargeable option is not included with every purchase. The emergency primary battery has a five-year interval; IPX7 protection is for the marine surface environment rather than use as an underwater radio.
Our take
Choose the package around the boat’s emergency requirements and whether you also need rechargeable use. Compare the Ocean Signal safeSEA V100 at the complete-kit level, including batteries, charging and local approvals.
