PRODUCT OVERVIEW

About this gear

The NR-1800Z changes beam width by twisting the head, from a 10° spot to a 45° spread. Its 1800-lumen output and stated 90-minute full-power runtime sit in a 290 g handheld package. The battery indicator is integrated into the push button.

Consider before buying

The wider setting is still narrower than a dedicated video flood. Bluewater Photo’s retailer guide notes unevenness at the tightest zoom setting, which is worth checking before buying for camera work. That guide also contains colour-temperature and red-mode claims inconsistent with the current manufacturer page; those claims are not adopted here.

Our take

Choose NR-1800Z when changing beam width is more useful than maximising spot output. NR-2500 provides a tighter fixed beam with higher listed brightness. Test the zoom control with gloves and inspect its beam on a plain surface. The retailer recommendation is useful context but supplies no eligible independent numeric score.

Review evidence and source documents

Published findings and supporting documents, with each source identified below. We have not personally tested this product.

The retailer likes the adjustable beam and notes possible unevenness at the tightest setting. Its red-mode and colour-temperature statements conflict with current manufacturer specifications; neither is adopted. No overall numeric grade appears.
