How we calculate scores →About this gear
Pathfinder AIS is a survival-craft search-and-rescue transmitter that sends GNSS position through AIS. NFC lets a compatible phone access test information, and a bracket and lanyard are supplied.
Consider before buying
It alerts suitable AIS receivers rather than transmitting a 406 MHz satellite distress call. The one-metre pole is optional, unlike the included pole on the older Pathfinder3 radar SART.
Our take
Choose it when your required rescue system is AIS-based, and price the mounting accessories with the transmitter. Do not swap a radar SART for an AIS SART without checking the vessel’s equipment requirements.
