How we calculate scores →About this gear
The Spectrum 10000 is a specialised ambient-blue video light. Its colour temperature is fixed at 16000K, unlike the selectable settings on the Spectrum 18000. Kraken specifies 10000 lumens continuous, 12000 burst and a 120° beam with 11 brightness levels.
Consider before buying
Fixed blue output is a significant buying constraint. It is intended for a particular blue-water lighting approach, not as a general daylight-colour flood. The listed runtime is 35 minutes at full power or 60 minutes at 80%. The official product page currently provides a placeholder instead of a model photograph.
Our take
Buy only if that colour profile fits your camera white-balance workflow and planned scenes. Bluewater’s exact-model listing also identifies the fixed colour as a limitation; it has no eligible overall rating. For mixed trips and changing subjects, compare the selectable Spectrum 18000. If the aim is ordinary white illumination of nearby reef detail, compare the Abyss 10000 instead. Its similar headline output does not make the two lights interchangeable. This page intentionally omits a borrowed photograph from another model.
